Design a Monster Competition

Amber, the Little School’s Dean of Demonolgy, has almost finished her personal project of sculpting her Sea Guardian. While it still needs to be cast and painted, the sculpting stage is very nearly over. However, this means that she will soon be looking for her next project.

Amber has very kindly offered our readers and fans the opportunity to design this project for her, so we are running a little contest! One lucky winner (plus any of their friends or family that they choose to help them) will work with Amber in designing a monstrous creature bust similar to the Sea Guardian, which will then be sculpted, painted and sent out to the winner along with a framed copy of any concept art that Amber creates during the project.

Throughout the month of October (1st to the 31st), if you visit our Facebook page (click the ‘f’ on the right of this page) you will see a picture post at the top. To enter and be in with the chance of working with our professional TV sculptor on brining your own monstrous vision to life, all you have to do is the following:

  • The post will ask a question. Make sure you put your answer in the comments of the post.
  • Then, click the like or the share button, or both if you are feeling really friendly!

And that’s it! At the end of October, we will then contact the lucky winner and the process of bringing another creature of the night/alien abomination to life will begin! Before you leave though, we recommend you take a quick look across some important rules below.

 Rules and Important Information

  1. This competition is open to anyone, no matter their location. However the following information should be kept in mind. If you win but are NOT located within the mainland UK, you will have to cover the shipping costs of your prize.

  2. Everyone giving the same correct answer to the question will go into a random draw. One lucky name will be picked out of the hat.

  3. While it would be nice for the winner to receive their prize nice and quick, Amber only has one pair of hands and is also busy with the Little School and TV work. This means that, at the very worst, it could take 12 months to complete this project. Really, this is just our way of asking for your patience and we will do everything to complete the prize in a reasonable timeframe.

  4. During the designing of the sculpt, there will likely be some back and forth between the winner and Amber on nailing the final design. This is natural as Amber will offer professional feedback on what may or may not be technically possible. Don’t be insulted if it isn’t possible to sculpt each individual hair on your monsters head!

  5. Once the design is finalised, Amber will start sculpting. The winner will receive regular photo updates during this stage allowing further input on making small tweaks. However, the Little School of Horrors reserves the right to use any photos of this project for promotional purposes though.

  6. Even if you see in your minds-eye a monster standing 20ft tall, the winning sculpt and bust will be a "bit smaller than a human head" sized. Sorry, but we don’t have the time or resources to create a life size dinosaur!
